Rainbow Continuum Spring Drag Show Campaign

For the spring drag show, we repeated the process from the fall. This time though we had recruited more officers and I wanted to train these younger officers on how to run the drag shows and the club so that when I as well other officers graduated they would know what to do.
The format of the show is also different for the spring as it is a competition based show in which all of the drag performers are competing for a title, called Beaver Royalty. This was a tradition started in previous years that I knew about from attending the shows. I felt it was important to keep this tradition going.
The other officers and I decided that we wanted a student photographer for this show as well, which was something new that we introduced. I had seen in the club records that we had hired professional photographers, but I felt it was important to give students a chance to have a professional and paying job like this.
We had also decided that we wanted to go with a fantasy theme for the show, and after a long debate we titled it "Rewriting the Story: A Drag Fantasy". I feel this title was perfect for what the show was doing for the community. Firstly, it was fantasy, it provided an escape from every day life, but it also had the subject of "rewriting" something. When I was on stage, introducing the show, I made a point to note that what we are rewriting is this narrative that drag, or being queer, or simply being yourself is wrong. Instead we proved with this show that we are good, that we are funny, that we are caring, and that we uplift ourselves and will continue to do that, especially if no one else does.
