Meowtations
Meowtations was a group project and since I pitched this game idea and my partners joined along to create it, the copy text, including an introduction, game play, and rules were written by me. I also acted as the illustrator for the group, creating the illustrations used on the cards, tokens, and player pawns.
There were three categories for the cards, two with six different cards and one with eight variations. The food cards would be drawn once landing on a food space on the board which would give or take a random amount of points. Mutation cards gave a random ability for a short amount of time and playing cards could be played during your turn.
The main point of the game was to be the cat (player) with the most fat tokens (points) by the end of the game. The three different categories of cards allows for a fun and unique game play that changes depending on each player's strategy.
The tokens were used to keep track of the points collected and allowed for friends to steal them from each other while playing. The pawns were used as markers to indicate where each player was on the board. The concept behind the tokens was fat cells. With the cats I wanted each to have a distinct personality that shines through with their accessories and expressions.
